Indoor/Outdoor fiber optic cables offer the “best of both worlds”: the fire retardance, flame ratings and flexible handling of a Premise cable plus the temperature stability and moisture resistance of an Outside Plant design, all in one cable. Using these versatile cables, installers can move from indoors to the outdoor environment, using a single cable and without transition splicing to a second, indoor-rated cable. This capability helps installers save on time and money, routing one cable from handholes into buildings or on short routes between buildings. In addition, many of these indoor/outdoor cable designs are suitable for indoor-only Premises applications.
